Being a recent convert from 4x10 to 2x12, I'm pleasantly surprised to see how many are using 2x12 cabs.

4-10's in two Eden 210 cabinets. Sounds good and can punch through any screaming guitar AND they're easy on the back. With my preamp/amp rack sitting on top, it's at the perfect height for leaning on while the rest of the band figures out what to play next.

and
1- Genz Benz Uber 115
1- Genz Benz Uber Quad

Both really tasty combos.

I have several rigs, and I use them in different venues.

Tecamp L 810 / 1200 Watt @ 4 Ohm
SWR 212 with Beyma neodymium woofers / 600 WWatt @ 4 Ohm

This two cabs are used with a GenzBenz GBE 1200 or an Ampeg SVP Pro and a 2x700 Watt @ 4 Ohm or bridged 1400 Watt @ 8 Ohm

There is one Peavey TVX 410 and one TVX 210 that get used with the Ampeg - combination or even a Peavey T-Max.

And -last, not least- there is a custom made 410, built like the upper half of an Ampeg fridge. This one sounds sweet with all my amps.

Well......it's official......212's are now more popular than 810's.

Just jerking chains. If I did gigs where I could take a big cab like that, crank it up and make it do what it does....that's exactly what I'd do.

I use 3 rigs...

2 x 15 Ashdown (thinking of replacing the drivers in these)
4 x 10 Markbass

and my fave...

2 x 12 GK

My style has gotten very old skool in the last 2 years, but I still need Hi-fi clarity at my disosal, often between numbers. The 2 x 12's are the best by far, not too dark, loads of punch and can handle brightness without fizzling under the low notes

I've been going with my Markbass 4x10 and head the last couple of shows. It's more than I need. I also have a Markbass 2x10 combo I use with it from time to time, but I must say that a 1x12 combo over another 1x12 cab would probably be more than enough.

Can play all my pop/funk/jazz gigs with this cab, a 210 with 8" coaxial mid/high unit.
It even punches most 410's in da face, small, powerfull, no coloration, great dispersion, low distortion

Same for me, if my 210 can't handle it the rest plays to damn loud!
