I think I know the answer to this, but I am in a predicament. Long story short, I need a new cabinet. I really want to try the Mesa Boogie Power House (1x15, 4x10 combo). However my house is small and I can only keep my amp in the basement. We are gigging every weekend and lugging this thing up and down the basement stairs alone could become an issue.
My question: Is keeping a cabinet in the garage (no moisture), a problem? In other words will cold weather have a negative effect?
I would ordinarily never consider it, but drastic times haha.
Thanks, |

actually I'd like to know this too. |

| | | | Probably not a problem. You can have moisture in a house too...especially if it is humid. As long as you are not getting it wet I seriously doubt you would have any issues. |

And that was in the winter. we did let the speakers warm up good before we put any sound tru them. I think i would be alright as long as they dont get wet. A guy at a music store told us one time where ever your going to store them put a card board box in there first for a while and see what happens to it, rather thats true are not I dont know. We didnt have a problem. And throw a cover over it to keep dust out. |

When I first came here and ask question these guys told me there were no dumb question. Plus if everyone would quit asking questions there be nothing to read, and I might have to talk to my wife about stuff you know wife stuff. Then she might think I am interested and make me go to the store of hell Ikea with her. |

Also, if you live in extreme heat in the summer, you might want to run a cheapy fan during the day.
Other than that, if you are moisture free, then it should not be a problem.
I would get a couple thicknesses of carpeting underneath, also. |

I would get a couple thicknesses of carpeting underneath, also. | I am in NJ, and it does get fairly cold over the winter. Not like Nebraska cold, but cold none the less.
Thanks for all the feedback. |

Seems to be ok. In fact have done this for a year now, plus the PA is there, drum kit, mics etc.. it all seems ok. Not sure what would happen really long term, but seems to be ok. Long as your using it and making sure it doesnt sit there doing nothing for ages.
