Let me re phrase my question: Are there any places that sell Duratex (or an alternative), thats not $52+ s&h?
Would really like to spend less than that. I know that that's already a cheaper solution, but $52 might as well be 52 thousand bucks to me....

Thank You

Randy

You get what you pay for. DuraTex is a specialized product, and it works, so well that it's used by many speaker manufacturers. If you go cheap you'll get cheap.

Maybe just a smaller quantity.

I used it on my BFM cab. It is good stuff. My freind bought some old Boogie 2x12 cabs and the tolex was in rough shape. He used it to fill in those spots and it turned out great. Yeah, it is a lot, but as long as you keep a thin layer of water on top of the porduct when stored, it will keep. Good stuff.

$52 is not bad. I paid twice that for a gallon of truck bed liner.

I was wondering this, too. A gallon is an awful lot for a small project.

Duke LeJeune posted a while back saying that you can now buy a small demo/repair pack straight from the manufacturer, in black only.

Will this be enough to cover an old flatback?

If you do it thick and multiple coats AND do the baffle, a quart will cover any 4x10. You shouldn't duratex the baffle though- just paint.

If you sand and prime with an oil based paint, and then do duratex, a quart will probably do a couple 8x10s.
