EA Wizzy 12 or Schroeder Mini 12+?

Or something else? Looking for small, light, loud, and (obviously) clear, powerful lows and highs. I have a Genz Benz Streamliner 600.
The Schroeder seems to win interms of poer handling and weight, but the EA has superior sensitivity and is about $100 less. What do you say?

Between EA and Schro, if you want lows: EA. There is no comaprison (I have owned both). A fEarful would be superior to the EA IMO.

I have 2 nEarfuls (LDS 15/6 and Avatar TB153). Both are so low, clear through the whole range and loud per pound that I have no further intetrest in conventional cabs.

Wizzy hands down. I've owned both cabs and the wizzy sounds MUCH better IMO. Two Wizzys make a formidable rig.

Really?
Neodymium is now very expensive so neo drivers will be hard to get and extremely expensive....Duke won't be able to make me my Tots.....

If you can find a Wizzy M line, check it out.

For that matter you might also want to try the EA CXL-112L. It's very efficient and articulate; one of my favorites for fretless bass and/or a bad sounding boomy room.

The wizzy 10 I had for couple of months was nothing short of amazing. Just not quite enough for what I need now, but I can't imagine anything better at 15lbs.

The LDS 12/6 nearful (36lbs) that just arrived in the mail is impressive. Clear and powerful is how I would describe it, but I haven't used it with a band yet. In the basement, it's been able to handle anything the shuttle 9 could throw at it. A very clean sounding rig. Possibly too clean. Jury's still out.

I haven't played a Schroeder.

It is interesting. Pricing to build a fEarful last week and the 3012ho was on sale for about $140. Same place has them now at $250. Must be lots of neo in that speaker. Apparently the LDS was a timely buy. I've never bought low before. Buy high and sell low has been my life story.

Have the prices gone up already?

The Wizzys are non-neo so they should not go up. They do tend to come in 4 ohm though, but apparently 8 ohms are available if you work for it.

The wizzy is a 30LB cab. Rare for non-neo, I think.

Std is 4 Ohm but they are easily ordered in 8 Ohm from any dealer.

I prefer the Wizzy by a wide margin, but if you want deeper lows, go for the M-line Wizzy. And if you want more high end than what the Wizzy delivers, then I might suggest looking at a cab with a tweeter. As others have suggested, the fEARful builds are just amazing (I have a 12/6cube/1 and a 15/6/1) and they definitely compete with the best in the business. Speaking of which, the Bergantino AE112 should definitely be considered as well.

Finally, I'm going to suggest the GK Neo112-II. It is lightweight, has great lows, very nice highs, goes plenty loud, and is one of the better "bang for the buck" cabs out there.

Hope this helps, Tom.

I vote for the Wizzy. My Wizzy 12 is a great cab.

I would really love to try one of the M Line Wizzy cabs but you just never see them outside of captivity.
