Ebs neodrome and drome classic: sensitivity

Sign in to disble this ad
Hi.
I'm a new member from Italy (excuse my bad english)
After I've bought a new rig (markbass sa450 on an epi ul2 210) I thought to sell the swr workingman 15 and a roland cube 100 (with which I play in mid sized club and during jam session) and buy a small and lightweight combo for small end medium performances.
I've a question. The woofer of drome classic is the same of the low efficient classic line 112 cab (which has 93 dB of sensitivity, instead of 100 db of the neoline)?
Has someone played those combos?
The drome classic sound less loud than neodrome?
Thanks a lot

No woofer has 100dB sensitivity when honestly rated, meaning at 100 Hz. More often that not an honest 93dB rating will have as much as, if not more, sensitivity at 100 Hz than one with a false rating at 100dB.

Thanks a lot bill. I know that the cabinet manufacturers don't say the frequency at which they estimate the sensitivity.
But I think that ebs measures sensitivity of the two cabs with the same method.

They may. Compare the Eminence BP102 and Deltalite II 2510 at 1kHz. The BP102 is 94dB, the 2510 98dB. But when loaded into the same enclosure their sensitivities below 100Hz are nearly identical. So sensitivity claims without an actual measured SPL chart to back them up are of no value whatsoever.
