EBS Session 60 vs Ampeg BA 112?

Sign in to disble this ad
As the header says; EBS Session 60 vs. Ampeg BA 112?
I am somewhat interested in an even smaller rig than the smallest setup I have today; Markbass LMII / EBS 210.

Both these mini combos seem decent on paper and they cost about the same in Sweden. I do not need much volume, just enough to play with a guitar or two + maybe a singer and / or some percussion or keyboard. Whatever...

Soundwise I am looking for more "warmth" than "clarity" and a rather deep tone.
Many users seem to like the BA 112, but not everyone.

I have not seen much opinions about the Session 60 so far.

I've never played an EBS amp, but that little BA112 is a great little combo. Nice warm tone, especially considering *most* Ampeg solid state amps sound like poo.

Thanks! I agree with you - the Ampeg combos I have tried (112 not being one of them) have disappointed me. But so has also the small-ish EBS Drome 12 (both regular and "Classic" version).

Anyone else?

The EBS Session 60 has a 10" speaker, not a 12".

For me, the sweet spot of the BA line is the BA112. Don't have one but it's a great little combo. Never heard the EBS but the BA112 is sweeeeet!

Count me in on the side of the Ampeg BA112, I use mine regularly to gig. Great amp!

I've tried the Ampeg and it's fantastic. It's the hidden gem of that line as JimmyM said.

BA112 is a super amp. (I prefer the older B50R)

Have to say I tried the EBS Session 60, it is hands down the deepest sounding 1x10 amp I've ever played.
In a class by itself.
It's not cheap $$$ but might be the ultimate bedroom amp.
