Question EDEN D410XLT EXPERIENCES??????

Sign in to disble this ad
Im looking at a used Eden D410XLT. I have heard Good things and Bad thing about this cab. I dont really ever play rock gigs just mostly jazz, funk, latin. I have heard about a supposed "GROWL" that this cab produces. I play a passive Yamaha BB series Jazz Bass which has a great mid range tone already. I heard that this cab is very "Middy". If anyone has played through this thing and really enjoys or dislikes it please please please give me all feedback possible. Thankyou so much for your time!

It has a definite midrange hump in the 300-700hz range. It does have decent bass response too, don't expect much of anything strong below 60hz. Seems to put out 100hz tones really well! it projects bass tone wildly too, bandmates will get annoyed with this cab quickly! Fills small rooms with ease. It growls nicely overall, hard to get around that - a definite thick midrange presence in the end. It's a bass cab made to cut through in a band situation.

I have used this cab with several different heads and the Eden heads sound best with this cab. Other heads sound great with it, but Eden heads bring out every ounce of low end, mid range sweetness and high end clarity with Eden cabs in general.

If you want more low end, with lots of clarity, and a simple sounding midrange - I highly suggest the Eden 410XST. For your styles of music, that might be the ticket.

I own a 410XLT since 3 or 4 years. I bought it new. It's 4 Ohm.
I always used it with a Demeter old-style preamp and a QSC PLX 1602 power amp. I use a custom-made 5 string bass, with a rather open sound.

It's true that it doesn't produce the deepest tones that other cabs produce (my Acme LowB2 goes deeper), but it makes very "usable" tones.
It can spread the sound in a very useful way. I don't know why it happens, but my fellow musicians in the actual band i play (sort of tribute to Joe Cocker, 8 members) say that they can hear my sound very well even when they are at my side, even at the other side of the stage (also in case of "bass not in the PA").

It's not a hi-fi cab, but who cares ..... i have other cabs for that ......
When i need volume and sound pressure, and i don't want problems nor mudded sound, i use the Eden ......... It always makes a good and intelligible sound.

IMHO.
