Eden DC112XLT - power specs question for Eden experts

Sign in to disble this ad
I've had my eye on an Eden DC112XLT at a local shop. It is a discontinued product. The Eden catalog lists a power rating of 200/330/420 (@8,4,and 2 ohms respectively). That would be the "Time Traveler" or 330 head. However on the back of the amp the model name is "550," despite the fact that it says Time Traveler on the front of the head. There are no power specs listed. There is one extension out that has "4 ohms" listed under it, but no mention of 2 ohm capability. The catalog mentions the Signature Series which, as I read on TB, brings the power to 390. So I'm not sure if this amp is a 330, 390, or 550. Does anyone have any idea?

Thanks.

The head inside the combo is the Time Traveler (first picture), but the "model" on the back says "550." I'm mainly wanting to know the power rating. Thanks.

Typo on the back plate; very common with Eden. They use a lot of glue in making the cabinets and the workers can only hold their breath for so long before they have to inhale....

Time Traveler is WT330, WT390, or WT405. They were upgraded through the years. It should say the model on the upper right of the front panel. All are 2 ohm capable. That's why the minimum for an extension speaker is 4 ohms. I'd guess that you have a WT390 there. I don't think Eden ever put the WT550 Traveler into this combo.

It says "Time Traveler" on the front panel and "550" written in pen on the back where it says "model."

So you're saying the internal speaker is 4 ohm? That wouldn't allow me to drive 2 additional 8 ohm cabs in that case. I was assuming the internal was 8 ohm so that you add 2 more 8 ohm cabs, for example. But I guess it makes sense that it's 4 ohm since that would match the middle number on the power rating scale they usually provide.

The part about inhaling the glue, yes. Should've used a smiley, eh?

The part about typos being common on the back plate is, unfortunately, too true.

Also, the internal speaker in the combo is 8 ohms.

Its a WT330, classic mistake from Eden on writing the wrong model# on the back of the amplifier.
