how's a going,new to talkbass.
im just chiming in to respond to all the smack ie. where its made, its a rebadged whatever, ecc.
well first off none of that matters, becaust this amp is the bees knees.this amp smokes an ampeg svt cl (yes i've done the shootout on these).the svt cl sounded dull as opposed to the e300t.i know, this may seem crazy an svt cl sounding dull.the e300t is really that good.it has much more overtones throughout the whole range of notes, they just sounded fuller richer.the other major difference between the ampes svt cl and the e300t there are more options in your tone, where as the svt cl is much more of one trick pony.if the svt cl sound is what your after the e300t can do that as well.
this is not an add for the e300t so here are the cons.
there is no light on the foot switch or the head to tell you the mute is on,not a big deal but it would be nice.the mute does not work on the di(i have heard the new version the wtb300v has fixed this).the fan is kinda of loud when not playing.the handles for the amp are those folding ones,i just dont care for them.its made in china.i wish these were made in the states(but what is any more).as far as the rebranding thing goes, this amp is an eden.just go play one if you get a chance, any missgivings will go away.i think you'll come away really diggin this amp.
thanks,thats just my 2 cents. |

Welcome to TalkBass moebass.
Congrats on the NAD.
If twice the price doesn't bother You, that's great.
If You bought it for the same price that others buy the same amp across the seas, even greater.
It sure is a good amp though, that I can agree with.
Regards

| | | | I sure like mine. I'd like it more than an SVT, but I've never been an Ampeg guy.

What triggered my initial purchase (Fame) was the fact that there was no way I could've bought the parts for a similar DIY build for the same price.

6550 output tubes right? I think I'm a 6L6 kinda guy. As soon as I get the E300T working up to snuff im gonna sell it in the classifieds.
IMO this amp would have been better with an onboard compressor- which is what they did with later versions of the amp.
Two years ago they were $700.00 shipped at Warpdrive on Ebay. Thats where I got the one i have.
I think it breaks up to early and easily- I guess I just like clean tube power more than out of control distortion.
Also the design is weird- the tubes heat themselves up being upside down- at gigs i had to start turning the head upside down to avoid overheating.
I am glad you like yours however. One mans cake is anothers poison!

i think this is a good amp for the cost.the problem is eden did everything to cut costs.i think this hurt eden and this amp.there are good ones and then there bad ones.
mine sounds clean and warm.guess i got lucky.
one small question how long does it take to get too hot?
i've never had mine over heat.that does not mean it wont happen. |

| | | | I test drove a NOS Eden E300T beside an Ampeg tube amp and a SVT4Pro. The Eden was just so much warmer and richer than both Ampegs. I kept switching between amps and every time I got back to the Eden it felt alive compared to the others. The 4pro sounded good, don't get me wrong, but it was a lot of work to dial it in where the E300T was great as soon as plugged in.
