Eden EX110

Has anyone used one of these with a low-watt head? How efficient are they?

From what I've read they are not all that efficient but sound pretty good. I've never played one myself.

I have the EX110, 4 ohm, that I run with with the Eden WTX-264, 260w head. They work great together and sound fantastic in my opionion. It is a joy to play.

Regarding your question of efficiency, the EX110 does have a pretty good wump and has very good full range sound due to the coaxial feature. I use it for my personal practice and have also used it to acompany an acoustic guitar and vocalist and no PA. I would imagine it would work for very low volume, background music, coffee shop type gigs with light percusion or drummer using brushes. Anything more than that would be pushing it for me. Hope that helps.

I have a similar rig- Wtx260 and EX110. If I need more volume, I add my Aguilar GS112 for the full 260 watts into 4 ohms. But the EX110 is enough for anything I do now.

I use the 12" version, the ex112 with a GK MB200 for both home practice and for jazz gigs with my upright.

It is very "middle of the road" as far as efficiency, neither good nor bad. However, the coax speaker gives a nice smooth and balanced high end without the abrasiveness of a tweeter. I don't like my tone super-snappy regardless, but it sounds nice and balanced and natural to me.

I would NOT attempt to use these cabs for a higher volume gig, even in pairs. They just aren't going to handle the pressure. The driver is definitely not designed to be robust, but rather to sound sweeter at lower volume uses.

The box itself is built like a tank, quite heavy for its size. FYI, I replaced the 1/4" jack on mine with a single speakon and it took minutes, well worth the effort.
