+1.

While I'm excited to see where Marshall will take Eden, I'm glad to own a real deal Eden born in '96.

Interesting

Like most things, if this is handled well it could be great for the Eden brand and Hi-Fi sound. But if its just another corporate ploy for better bottom dollar, then it may have been a very unwise investment indeed. Neither company seems to have been terribly active in R&D in the past 5 years...if they keep production overseas how long can a company last off of their reputation alone.

Without a drastic increase in QC, or attractive redesigns I can't really see anything more than the marketing powerhouse of Marshall being a plus for Eden. I expect to see shops flooded with the next wave of a lower caliber Eden in the coming year. There could be opportunity for a great remodeling of the 300 watt tube head however. That would be very interesting indeed.

More than anything, this makes me excited to see the value of my USA made Eden skyrocket!

Sadly, I wouldn't count on it.

I wonder if the reason there are less Eden products, is so Marshall can promote there bass amps. I see that the wtb300v is no longer in there line. Maybe Marshall will become the tube bass amp line (vba400) and eden will be the solidstate tube preamp line (wt500).

So if I bought a WT550 new in the summer of 2008 does that mean I got one of the non-"real deal" Eden heads?

PS - I still have my WT-300 from '95. Lots of mile on that guy.
