Eden Nemesis problems! need help!

Sign in to disble this ad
So, heres my problem. My Nemesis 2x10 started acting like the speakers were blown (distortion and floppiness at volumes above 8 o clock) so I pulled the back plate off to inspect. I noticed there was a fuse that was blown. First question, could this be the cause of the bad sounding speakers? And, most importantly, anyone know what kind of fuse it is?!

Ive called Eden 3 times with no reply (one guy said he would email me the answer as he had to look it up and its been a week with no email), another never returned my call and the third time I was told they didnt have records that far back (its about an 11 year old cab). I have limited internet access (im on my phone)so any help would be great! I have a gig this weekend and am running out of time on trying to figure out the fuse type to see if that IS the issue.

Model number of the amp is N210-P.
And yes, ive looked on the plate and circuit board for any indication and the fuse is blank.
Thanks for any help or suggestions.

Also the fuse is a bigger one, about an inch and a half long and 3/8 thick

That sounds more like a protection lamp for the crossover. See if you can match the number at an auto parts store.

Speaker wear is cumluative. A cab that old, it might be that your speakers are wearing out. Cab could also have an air leak which can produce a "fluttering/distroted" sound. I believe the fuse you see is prtection for the horn. A blown fuse to the horn would not make your drivers distort.

where is this "fuse"?? if you have the back off, take a pic of the PCB..

i'm just guessing, but i suspect it's the thermal breaker that is just before the speaker off switch.. not a fuse..

be careful digging around in your amp, you could get shocked.. if you don't really know what your doing, take it to a qualified tech to service it..
