EDEN TONE ROCKS!!!!

Sign in to disble this ad
I own a WT550, and I am loving this head after extensive use.

I came from a mesa mpulse600, and a trace elliot ah500-7

Needed more POWER, well the eden sounds the best, and most musical out of the bunch. The Mesa 600 got retarded loud but had too much knobs, pro head though.

Anyways I LOVE this tone. Share any positive comments about older eden equipment!

Got a WT550, too! I know it's not a really "real" Eden, but I love it anyway. Sounds huge and warm, just the way I like it, without any EQing - too bad, because that EQ is fantastic....

Well, "Mister Eden" left the company a few years back, and the stuff is made in China nowadays.

I own a WT550 also, and mine is a real Eden, hahahahahaha. When I got it I was in the market for a Mesa, but after talking to a few close friends, and finding one in mint condition for $400 I went for it, paired with my Epi PS410 I could not be happier.

I've got a "real" WT-550 as well and use it for everything from doghouse rockabilly to electric soul and jazz with very little EQ tweaking. All of it through two Aguilar GS-112's.

I'm lovin' it!

'The Founder' may have left the building, but the amp and speaker designs remain with the present owners.

Congrats on your new amp Zildjian106! I understand how you feel. Nothing else rocks my boat like the tone from an Eden rig!

Cheers,
Duff2

WT400

I have one of the first WT400 Ltd Edition Traveler's. Bought it around '94. It has been great and sounds fantastic. I run it through either 2 112 xlt's or a D210xlt and a 115xlt. I've used it almost every day since new with not a single problem.

If you want something louder, it might be good to consider a Navigator preamp with, say, a Crown XLS Drivecore power amp or something similar.

Ive got a "fake" eden (nemesis 650, "designed in usa, built in china?(i think)) from when mr. eden was there. Its basically awesome. I actually like it better than the WT series.

My first real amp was a 400. I think it sounded best "flat" but that's not a knock. Even flat, its voice shaped my tone for the better. Crazy flexible EQ, but there was no need to use it. The tube came loose once, thought the amp had died but it was a 2 minute DIY repair so I have to give it credit for reliability too.

WT800C user here. I love it... modern to classic... especially with Eden cabs. Nice synergy.

I just got the WTDI and there's a certain tangibility to the Eden sound that, while wholly awesome, is a flavour I am glad to have bypassed at the push of a button.

It's enormous.

I used to use a WT330 head. I love the tone, but once I started playing double bass I had to replace it - unfortunately, it just didn't work.

Now using a '71 Bassman, but still using the same Eden 210 cab, it's a nice pairing!

I have Eden WT300 #595 modified to WT400 specs by David N. himself (his techs were on vacation and I was on the road ) in 1997. He upgraded power, fan & DI. It's worked solid ever since and it's the sound I want to hear, every time. ...and at 13lbs, it doesn't make me wish I had a micro.
