Musicians Friend is offering the Eden WP100 Navigator for $199. I still see it everywhere else for $600 or more. What am I missing? Too good to be true is usually hiding a gotcha. Only thing I see so far is a 42 day lead time. Thoughts? |

Why is this so much cheaper here than I can find anywhere else? Some kind of imitation? Not quite the item I believe it is? |

Funny that the MSRP is so low also.
Have you tried to call them and place the order? |

If it's a foreign knockoff, that might be part of an explanation, but maybe it still sounds good.
Anyway, thanks for the responses. |

I'm guessing they screwed up item numbers. If it was in stock I might order it but 42 days is plenty of time to realize the mistake. |

I take it you haven't actually played through one ? Certainly you haven't read my review... The Nav is a stellar pre. Now how the import version version holds up next to the MIA is an open question. What will be real interesting is to see if MF actually honors the sale.

Should the deal "go south" (wrong item, denied due to incorrect pricing, defective item, etc.), how's the customer service when it comes to resolution?

You Don't Always Get What You Pay For Posted by CTStorm from Connecticut on May 17, 2010Experience w/product: I own itReviewer's Background: Musician / EngineerReviewer's Play Style: Pop / RockI bought the Eden Navigator Pre Amp from Musician's Friend in 2005 and have only used it lightly in my home studio. Up until recently it has worked ok, but I can't say that I have ever really been WOWED by the sound. A few months ago, however, I started noticing that my DI output would just cut out during recording. It got progressively worse untl now the unit doesn't work at all. Eden has a 2 year waranty. Overall, this unit is not what I expected from such a high end boutique company.Overall

Great pre-amp Posted by Tunaman from Boston on Jan 10, 2008Experience w/product: I own itReviewer's Background: Active MusicianReviewer's Play Style: RockHad this preamp for 2 years after long searching for the perfect tone. The Navigator has so many EQ controls you have tons of tone options. It will change the tone of your bass if you want it to. Sounds way better than my Sansamp NYC. Highly recommend trying this one out on your search for what works for you. Check out the Direct out though, I've had 2 that had tons of hiss. Overall

Losing Faith Posted by Boogiefingers from Atlanta on Dec 10, 2006Experience w/product: I own itReviewer's Background: Active MusicianReviewer's Play Style: Rock, Pop, Funk, Blues, Country, R&BBecame worried when I first purchased this over a a year and a half ago, when out of the box, the main outputs were not funtioning properly. Was quickly impressed with Eden's customer service when I called for help and spoke with David Eden himself! Since then, I've had a few issues: all of the XLR outputs do not provide a snug/tight fit. (ie: plug your mic cable in and it "clicks', but is very loose in the socket). This has caused poor connection and sound when my DI cable works loose during performance. Last night both the XLR and main outputs lost significant output level to the mixer and my amp. Checked all cables and settings and all are ok. I'm gonna have to send it in. My two cents: For the cost of this product, the sound is average, the construction is solid other than the XLR outputs, the electronics have now failed me twice. Not what I expect of a product of the price. Especially for the amount I perform. I've had MUCH more appreciation for the Ampeg gear I've used over the past 20 year. Sorry Eden, but I'm getting this fixed and will then keep as a back-up pre-amp.
