Eden WP100 Navigator white noise

Hey all, I've been following the forum for awhile now, but this is my first post. Naturally, it's because I have a problem, and I'm hoping some of you might pose some suggestions.

I own an Eden WP100 Navigator Preamp. It's about 6 months old. I run it through an SWR Power 750w poweramp and a 4x10 Mesa cab. Recently I've been getting a lot of white noise. I'm pretty sure it's from the preamp because it gets worse when I turn up the Gain or Master knob on it, and it also occurs when I use the XLR Recording DI straight into a recording console. Recording-wise, it's unusable; for live performance, it's just kind of annoying.

I emailed Eden Customer Support and they suggested I try changing my tubes. I've never owned a tube preamp before. Should I really try this, or is it going to be a waste of money and time? My instinct tells me it's not the tubes because it's 6 months old.

Help a brotha out! Thanks y'all.

I'm in almost the exact same boat. I have a coworker taking a look at it (he's an accomplished amp tech), so I hope I can provide more help to you in the next few days. Until then, I'm subscribing to see if others have had similar experiences and/or can offer recommendations.

Replacing the tubes is all you can do. If that doesn't fix the problem, the only other thing you can do is take it in to a qualified amp technician. Good luck.
