Yes, I searched and read all I could find. Please help me decide which Eden head to go after. I don't gig (yet) and I love my Tech 21 Landmark 300. Over the weekend, I heard a bassist buddy play a gig with his '75 Precision through an Eden Traveler hybrid head and a 112 (SWR). KILLER tone. So, GAS.
I play Precision more than passive Jazz. I dig everything from Foo Fighters to the Funk Brothers, but mainly I'm looking for warm tone with an old-school vibe. I've found the TC BH-250 too wooly and GK heads too sterile if that helps. I have two Aggie DB112NTs inbound. So I've narrowed it down to a couple of Eden models that get lots of love and show up regularly on the Classifieds.
WT-405/330: all solid state, plenty of juice, Golden Ear chip, variable compression that is reportedly superb, simple controls. Two inputs for lessons or easy bass switcharoos.
WT-550/500: tube preamp, more juice, non-adjustable compression, semi-parametric EQ, great reliability, lots and lots of love for the tone.
To those in the know: pros and cons of each? Thanks, bros.
