Eden WT550 with a mesa 410 sounds like crap, but why?

This weekend me a and fellow bass player went to support another fellow player. When we got there he was rocking a Eden WTB400 with a Hartke VX410 (I sold it to him). His tone was off the chain, great low end with crisp highs. Well when the guy I came out with found out he asked me didn't I rock a Eden, and I said yeah a WT550. Well we wanted to try it last night on his gig, so I said fine, now his normal rig is a Peavey Cirrus 6 string, into a Mesa M-Pukse 600 head, with a Mesa 410 I don't know which one because I can't find it on their site it has the ports in the back and none of them have ports in the back! Anyway he used my head with his cabent, and it sounded like crap, I mean no highs mid heavey, ok low end, I was like ***!!! I told him how to use the head and that a little goes a long way with the eq. These were his settings the enhance @ 9, the bass @ 1, the treble @ 3 the lows flat, the mids flat the highs @3. I don't get it!! now my set up is Bongo HH5er, the wt550 on a epifani ps410 , my settings are the enhance @ 9, the bass @1, the treble @1 everything else flate or sometimes the highs @1. I get all the low end and highs I could ever want. Can someone tell me what happen ;ast night?
P.S Sorry about being so long winded!!!

I thought about that, but suggested he check the batt in his bass, and sure enough that's what it was. He told the the next day at church his bass was acting up and it was the batt! I know the sound will be different with different cabinets, but not like that!
