Eden WT800 and (2) D410XLT question!

Sign in to disble this ad
I just bought an Eden WT800B and another 410XLT to add to the first one I had. I want to run the two cabs in bridge mode to get the full output of the amp, but I have a question prior to doing so.
I have never had a head that could do bridged-mono, so do I need specially wired Speakon cables, or has Eden wired the head to work with standard cables? Also, would I just take a Speakon from the head to the top cab, and go from that one to the bottom cab?

Any help is appreciated...I don't want to kill a new head!

I'm not sure about running it bridged, you may be better off running 1 cab per side. Specs on their site say 880W @ 8 ohms (bridged).

http://www.eden-electronics.com/info...pdf/WT800B.pdf

the manual says it's a NL-4 speakon..

"Bridge Mode Operation: Connect speaker(s) to the Bridge Mono output ONLY. Do NOT use the individual amplifier outputs. The total impedance of all speakers should not exceed 4 Ohms.

Engage Bridge Mode by depressing the switch on the front panel. You can do this using the tip of a pin, a small screwdriver, etc. In the ON position, the switch should be slightly recessed into the face of the amplifier. When you turn the amplifier ON, the Bridge Mode Indicator will light.

Make sure the Bi-amp switch is OFF, or flush with the panel.

Set the Balance control to the 12:00 position."

use normal Speakon (+1/-1) for bridge mode
bridge mode for a real WT800B is 4 ohm minimum

but make sure it's not a WT800A rev. b/c/d

So I picked the head up today, and they said it was a WT800B, but it was really...a WT800C! I guess the sales person couln't read. I had it hooked up with one cab per side, but I will try running it bridged next time. As long as it is safe to use a regular Speakon. I just run a cable from the bridge speakon jack on the back of the head to one cab, and then from that cab to the bottom one? (both cabs are 8 ohms) Thanks for the help, this is my first stereo head.
