i was expecting something larger than a 12L. |

| | | 1000w 12" - That's nothing, check out Mackies 2000w 8" http://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/DLM8/
Hint - stereo amp, no way is half the watts going to mid/hf - it just never gets used.

The 112p manual just states that it is 1000 watts class D. No mention of how they measure that or what the split is between low and high.
The woofer is just stamped steel, but it does have a vented pole piece and a pretty beefy looking spider and suspension.
I was playing it at home to some music for a long time. Once I got past the stage where I was trying to kill it and find its limits it proved to be very musical and capable of producing a nice growly tone with my set up. It was loud enough to shake things in the room, but no where near gig volume. That report will have to wait a few weeks. |

| | | | Great thread. I will have to keep watch on this.
I can say these EV's are bad to da bone. Our band uses 4 of the 15 versions for FOH. The venue size dictates we run all four and run everyrthing through the FOH. These EV's will flat out pummel loudly. I can see where one of the 1x12 would make a great bass cab, 50 hz is plenty enough low end. I have been using two 1x12 cabs with a Shuttle 900 and that makes one hell of a bass rig so why not?

A 5 string Modulus is a little much for the 12s, but adding the sub is pretty awesome. Lots of low end and clarity. Whatever your bass sounds like is what you will hear.

I know the sub has a LPF at 100 Hz. But it doesn't seem to have stereo out with a HPF at 100 Hz like some others have. So how do the 12" speakers get their HPF? |

The HPF on my pedal board is a gentler slope so it sounds good with the speaker in full range mode. My band decided to record for a while so I haven't had a chance to try it out with the band. | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
