Eminence 3012LF & 3015LF No Longer Available

Sign in to disble this ad
FYI,
Got word today from my supplier that Eminence will no longer be carrying the neo's. China has proposed another price hike and Eminence would rather wait for stability than to continue this fiasco. There are no 3012LF's available and a small quantity of 3015LF's since I don't purchase Ho's or Deltalite's I didn't inquire about their availability. So, if you want Eminence neo's inquire from your source ASAP

Oh, how I wish I had about a dozen 3012LFs laying around.

Hmm. Related question. I have an Avatar B212. It has 3012LFs in it. Are they stock or are they a custom build? If stock, those drivers are worth way more than the cab they are in. Hmm. They are either 4 ohm or 16 ohm drivers. I've been in the cab before and IIRC they are wired in series. So they are 4 ohm. That's a custom driver. I just answered my own question. Amazing.

I would think it means that you should talk to the builders/suppliers ASAP. Its bad form to believe everything you read on a web forum without confirming with the sources. Especially if they've got stock on hand.

Correct. Not without a 3012/3015LF and/or the spec'd 6" mid drivers.

I had Don at LDS put my name on one 4 months ago @ the old price. Cab should be ready soon. The china neodymium price increase is what made me pull the trigger. Turns out that was a huge correct decision.

It actually seems like they've been forced to issued price hikes SEVERAL times on the NEO's over the past year...

That's a really good price.

The 'old' list price was around 170, though you used to be able to find them down around 140.

Hmm, has anyone ever compared the 2 side by side, like 2 15/6? What's the difference?

After looking at their page, they definitely have a lot of options.

Yes, a number of us have. Typically it's in amount of port area, tuning, and crossover design. Usually Don's sacrificing a little bit of performance for aesthetics or size or something (or just being chintzy on the crossover or using a variable Lpad to increase apparent convenience).

Still good cabs, but make some sacrifices.

Worms!

They've escaped from their can...

(There are a few toasty threads on that already I think.)

We've been warned about this before from folks like Bergantino, Audiokinesis, now Lophat...it's only a matter of time. There are warehouses with these drivers in them, they're not going to disappear tomorrow but things are headed that direction....at least until other sources become available, which doesn't exactly happen overnight either.

Don's a 1 man operation so there's no "their".

I found a new truck liner for Don's cabs btw. It's an extra charge but the sample matched my cab from 2 years ago very very closely.

.
I wouldn't panic just yet.
I recently shopped online for both 12 and 15LFs and found them in stock all over the world! Every man and his dog has them!

Sure, the prices vary wildly, but my crystal ball shows me that we're not going to be in a "Kappalite famine" type situation for quite some time to come.

Go ahead and panic-buy if you're unfortunate enough to be a worrying type of person, but I'm certainly not running to the kitchen to grab my credit card when I finish typing this!
