Eminence Delta 15" Speaker

Anyone familiar with this Eminence speaker? If so i'd appreciate hearing what you thought of it.

I've got all of the specs on it off the Eminence website, so I don't need that kind of info.

I'm considering putting 3 of them in a late 1960's Kustom 3x15 cabinet.

Been modelling them in win ISD, in not very big boxes I get a hump around 100hz or about 3db. Not super hot on that sort of stuff though. The Delta 12 is a great driver.

I bet the vintage stuff was not flat response. Hump at 100 Hz though might be a good thing as that's where a lot of people think bass resides, though not true from a pure frequency standpoint. If you rightly consider bass lives tonewise in the harmonics it makes more sense.

It's a good driver if you don't have much power on tap and need a midbass hump for adequate output. But if you do have over 300 watts available one 3015LF will put out as much as three Delta 15s.

Bill, the head is a 1968 Kustom K200B-1 outputting 100 watts RMS. The amp and cabinet won't be used as a gigging rig unless it's loud enough to keep up at smaller gigs.

Greetings from the North,

That was my first 'Big Time' rig back in the day. The Deltas should work well and will definitely be loud enough. Tuck n Roll Baby!

With 100 watts on tap, you might like it. It trades deep lows for midbass and lowmids and higher SPL. Could make 100 watts a gigable rig provided you're talking about smallish local bars/clubs. It'll handle the job for rehearsal, house party, restaraunt/coffee shop stuff easily. They also make good woofers for PA cabs provided you're not running kick and bass through them. More SPL in the vocal range in trade for deep bottom.
