Got an Eminence Delta Pro 12A for a project. The thing is brand new, but when I hit almost any note on my bass, I get a buzz or rattle sound. This shouldn't be happening, right? Should I send it back to partsexpress?
This is just testing it outside a cabinet, but even when I hold the frame it happens. |

What you're doing can damage the speaker, if it hasn't already. You also cannot put the speaker into just any old box. It must be designed to work together.

| | | | Really? Even at low levels? Then how can you even have an open back cab?
Anyways, I'll stop for now until it gets in a cab. |

It's also possible that the speaker got dropped in shipping, and thus the voice coil is rubbing against the magnet assembly. If you press lightly on the cone to move it, you should not hear any rubbing sound.

If the voice coil is rubbing, you can't fix it without reconing or replacement. Since it's new, a replacement would make the most sense.

| | | | Define, "rubbing sound." What exactly am I listening for? A scratching noise or a grinding noise? |

ANY sound.........
You should be able to move the cone in and out without any sounds or resistance.
