Just interested if anyone is using these. I just picked up 4 to go into an 810 and wondering what peoples opinions were on these speakers. Not much out there I can find.
Thanks

+1000

I was thinking of replacing the speakers in my vintage 810. I seem to be getting too much speaker distortion and considering some new speakers that can handle a little more power without losing the tone.

Will let you know this weekend. They are certainly a better construction than is currently in my G-K 810BLX

I've been waiting to hear some news about them since I've been considering replacing the Eminence speakers in my Ampeg SVT410AV cabinet. I actually heard from Eminence that they will go up to 5000 Hz.

Well used them for the first night and I must say I was very impressed and for those interested in making the change I highly recommend doing it. You will not be disappointed. I will be changing out the rest of the cabinet for sure.

Ferret,

Thanks for the report! Can you describe the difference between the old and new speakers?

I have two shows this weekend and will pay more attention. I was having a bit of a time with effects changing settings on their own and a head cutting out. But I will say I did notice the difference. At the volume I was playing normally I could hear them start to strain and this did not happen. Especially the Hofner would push them since it is a deeper tone. They are in a GK 810, 4 original and now the four Eminence. If you are at all thinking about changing speakers I would run with these.
