Eminence PXB:5K0 mod

Sign in to disble this ad
I have the PXB:5K0.
I want to change the cutoff frequency from 5K to 3.5K just like the PXB:3k5.
I just need to know how to pull this off.
Simply put, what parts do I need to order?
Thanks

Well, why not just change the part?
It seems easy enough. Right?

Sure. You merely need to change all the passive components, save the tweeter protection fuses. Please post the schematics for both boards and I'll walk you through it.

Gotta buy the part, pay for shipping, do the work. Seems like it would be less trouble to just buy it. I want to say the main crossover shop charges a minimum of like 7 bucks shipping or some crap.

You're going to have to buy the parts for the low pass and the high pass of course, too, it's not just one part.

If you're going to do this, it's my opinion you'd do a lot better to pull some impedance plots for your woofer/horn and do something tailored to your rig. Add some padding too potentially (unless you've got the model with the attenuator already I guess?.

My plan was to buy a pair of BASS LITE S2010's and put em in my peavey 210tx. I was gonna use a high pass at 3.5k.

I figured I could convert my PXB:5K0 that I have laying around to 3.5.
If it isn't gonna be easy, then I'll just buy the PXB3k5.

Yes, I have the attenuator, It looks like the biger 100 watt l-pad.

I don't have the schematics, but I could take a look.

From what you just posted, this would be a huge waste of time and money. Sell what you have, buy what you actually want.

No worries. The inductor is probably glued on, which already would make it too much hassle IMO.

Sometimes they are riveted instead.

Good on you for at least attempting to recycle...

There are three components, and you have to change all of them, not just one.
