Hi every one I had a question for all of you. I am getting an Epifani Performance 410 cabinet. The cab puts out 800 watts. Now here is my question. Until now I have only used combo amps,so this is my first time with a seperate head/ cabinet set up.My dumb question is if I got the Performance series 400 head, that would give me 400 watts of power?Even though the cab puts out a maximum 800 watts.Correct? Is there a head that will give me my maximum cab output? Thanks in advance for the help. Joe

The Epi performance 400 head is 400 watts at 4ohms. Do you know what ohms your cab is wired for? 4 or 8?

If your cab is 4ohms the head will give provide 400 watts, if your cab is 8 ohms the head will provide less. there is no info on the Epifani website for how much wattage that head will give at 8 ohms but my guess would be around 250-275 watts. Again, that is a guess.

HI

Your amp will put on a set amount of wattage according to the ohmage of your cabinet. Check the specs for both.

I just got my brother two of the 4 ohm Epifani PS410's and the PS1000 head (actually two 500 watt power amps and bridgeable into 8 ohm only). He's now prepared for just about anything.

No way....I was just gonnas ask if you wanted a 60 y.o. older brother?

FTR, the 4 X 10 cabs are huge and sound great. My only gripe is that the front grilles are a bit on the flimsy side.

I know this is a old thread, and it may be too late, but I just ordered the same cabinet in 4 ohms
