I already have an Epi UL2-410 that is the apple of my eye, but I needed a smaller cab for more gig flexibilty. I used an Avatar B210 for years, then traded up to a used Accugroove Tri-115. For some reason that one never clicked with me so I traded it straight across for a used Epi T-210 UL at GC. Had the first two gigs this week with it and I am blown away.
The articulation, depth, and the responsiveness to tonal shaping is everything I've ever wanted in a bass cab (just like the 410) ...and it's only 39lbs!
Since you are reading this thread I know I'm preaching to the choir, but man am I happy this morning!!!

Perhaps I'll rejoin, but it'll be a while. |

I had my eden rig for 12 years and after A/B'ing it I bought it on the spot and sold bold my WT800/410XLT rig and Eden Time Traveler/Bag End 115. |

For smaller work and doubling I am thinking about going for a ULII-210, as I am having some trouble getting output from my DB112 alone. How would that 210 be for both basses? Slightly bigger, but a bit lighter than my 112, which I will have to part with, and go all Epi...

The UL210 is even wider and a bit more scooped than the UL410(II) with that upper midrange hole in the frequency response that results in that airy, upper treble top end kind of floating over the cab, and that much higher ratio of mid bass to mid and low midrange.
I would think that would be a mess with a Double Bass, but I guess it depends on the tone you are going for, and the nature/voicing of you DB. If you dig the 410UL with your double bass, then the 210UL would most likely work for you. |

Actually I like the DB112 with upright, but just have found that I really have to push the amp more than I thought I would in a big hall with the EB and my typical group. The UL410 is great in that application, but I thought was a bit over kill, so I wanted to try something between my 410 and my 110. The UL210 sounds like it might be OK for my EB needs there, but I would probably want to keep the 112 for upright when needed. I wonder how a UL112 would work, with a little more sensitivity than the aggie?
(a guy could end up with a lot of cabs in this business )

(a guy could end up with a lot of cabs in this business ) | If you are using that very low powered MB200 that you have listed you your profile, then yes, a higher sensitivity cab will help a bit. However, the published sensitivity spec's used by almost all manufacturers are measured at 1K. That means, at best, it is a loose indication of the 'brightness versus low end' ratio of the cab.
IF you are using an MB200 to drive that DB112, that cab can actually use more power. If you dig the tone of the MB200, get an MB500 and done! | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
