Epifani PS 1000 or GK 2001 RB

Thinking of trying out one more bass head before I ultimately just go to power amp. Lately I've been alternating between the 500 and 600 watt MarkBass LMIII and the Genz Benz Shuttle 6.0 and while they're both great little heads, I still have to push them to keep up with some obnoxious guitarists. I wanted to make the jump to 1K watts and the Epifani and the GK both seem to be good amps. The GK 2001 seems to get more buzz but at $300 more than the Epifani, I can't help but wonder if it's $300 better? THere's also the Genz Benz SHuttle 12.0 priced around the same as the Epifani. One thing I liked in the reviews on the Epifani was that the sound wasn't very colored and I was kind of leaning that way. Anyone out there have some input on either head (or both?) or another alternative in the low $1000 price range? Thanks!
