I was hanging with Dan Lakin(former owner of Lakland basses) yesterday. And he had a very impressive sounding Epifani rig.
Seriously it really sounded good. Overall the sound was very well balanced and clean. Dan passionately feels that it is the best amp he has ever heard and he's a die hard Ampeg SVT user for many years.
Guys if you ever get a chance check our the,
Epifani UL-DIST 410 cab with switchable impedance 4 or 8 ohms.
And the Epifani UL 501 head. Epifani - Bass amplifiers, cabinets, combos.

I have the 902 C, and previously owned the P600. The 501 has more power than the 502. It has A/B power supply of the 502 but the power of the 902, which has class D power. The notes sound rounder with the 501, and it only weighs 7 pounds. Get it, you will not be sorry. |

Run over to Epifani and check them out, if he has any their; he's in Brooklyn. I was there a few weeks ago, and he had empty DIST cabs. He is having difficulty getting the Neo magnets; so the DIST may be a thing of the past because he can't get the speakers anymore. |

Hate to be shallow, but I started out playing hot looking Ampeg rigs, then had a couple rigs I wasn't crazy about the look, and now I'm back playing pretty rigs, and I feel a lot better having something pretty behind me to distract from my giant head.
