Epifani Rig

Sign in to disble this ad
I was hanging with Dan Lakin(former owner of Lakland basses) yesterday. And he had a very impressive sounding Epifani rig.

Seriously it really sounded good. Overall the sound was very well balanced and clean. Dan passionately feels that it is the best amp he has ever heard and he's a die hard Ampeg SVT user for many years.

Guys if you ever get a chance check our the,

Epifani UL-DIST 410 cab with switchable impedance 4 or 8 ohms.

And the Epifani UL 501 head.

Epifani - Bass amplifiers, cabinets, combos.

I'd love to try the UL501 and Piccolo heads, but where? For months it seems like each week that the ship date of the UL501 arrives it gets moved out to the next week. And there's still no ship date for the Piccolo that I've seen.

I, too, would love to put to use a UL 501 as my primary head (keeping my UL 502 as backup). I'll hang on to my two T-112NYC cabs...as there simply isn't yet an alternative to their thump for my taste and usage

Is there anyone out there with a UL-DIST-410 cab? If so I'm sure we'd all love to hear about it.

The Epi UL 501 is the real deal. Glenn at Bass Specialties has one for sale. I have the 902 C, and previously owned the P600. The 501 has more power than the 502. It has A/B power supply of the 502 but the power of the 902, which has class D power. The notes sound rounder with the 501, and it only weighs 7 pounds. Get it, you will not be sorry.

Hey Neal. Run over to Epifani and check them out, if he has any their; he's in Brooklyn. I was there a few weeks ago, and he had empty DIST cabs. He is having difficulty getting the Neo magnets; so the DIST may be a thing of the past because he can't get the speakers anymore.

Epifani is one brand I've never played. I guess it's the styling I'm not into. Hate to be shallow, but I started out playing hot looking Ampeg rigs, then had a couple rigs I wasn't crazy about the look, and now I'm back playing pretty rigs, and I feel a lot better having something pretty behind me to distract from my giant head.
