Epifani UL-112 + Bag End S15-D = Match made in Heaven

The Epifani has the lows and high end sparkle and the Bag End has the mid-bump punch. Anyone else tried this combination? Makes my Rex Brown 5 sound like a much higher end bass. Sounds a lot like an Elrick or Zon through something EBS. Anyone else have a similar experience?

I own both of these cabs but never tried em together. Maybe I'll give it a spin at the gig tonight.

Which cab are you running on top?

On paper, these cabs probably don't look like they'd be good together, but you just never know. I think that could be why the UL112 and the UL110 work so well together. Each box has what the other hasn't got.

nah. I think you're just loving the true awesomeness of the S15D!

Standalone may have a point. I tried this combo on the gig Friday night, S-15D on the bottom. Wasn't a tone revelation for me and I didn't think it sounded as good as the pair of S-15Ds I've been running.

But keeping an open mind and gonna try again tonight, this time with the UL on the bottom instead.

line array / matching drivers ftw

it's always worth experimenting, though. Just like when a stratocaster's pickups get their tone through phase cancellation (SRV, baby!), sometimes I bet mismatched cabs are just the thing.
