Epifani UL410+PS115

Sign in to disble this ad
Hi Everybody,
I use an Aguilar Sc500 with Epifani UL410 cab.My cab is unfortunately 8 ohms so I need extension to get a bit more power.I thought I should buy a PS115 (8ohms) Epifani cab and this way with daisy chain my amp would work on 4 ohms.
Has anyone tried this combination? How would sound the neodynium UL410 with the traditional ceramic PS115?
Is it a good idea to combine these differently tuned cabs?Or should I get another 8ohms UL410 to pair up with mine?
If anybody has got experiences please share them with me.
Thanks,

It is an awful idea to pair a 15 with a 410. The wattage boost @ 4 ohms is moot, but if you need more volume, add another identical 410. Period. You will be amazed at the advantage matched cabs will give you.

I thought if my amp works at 4 ohms on 500watts it would split the signal between 2 cabs 250-250 each,so the 115 cant brake under the boost(being 400watts).However I've seen many pics of 410+115 cabs configuration I was also reluctant with the idea.
Thanks guys again.

Yes, it's a very popular pairing, but it's engineering by looks, and a terrible waste of an otherwise perfectly good 1x15 cab. 2 of the same, ALWAYS wins.
