EQ curves

Hi, I'm looking for some help...

Can anyone tell me how on earth do you get an EQ curve readout from an amp or preamp?

I'm told the above image is from a Dunlop D.I. the M-80, with the color button in.

Someone must know how this is done, and Google gives me nothing.
Thanks guys.

"Readout"? Can you elaborate?

If you feed pink noise into your rig and then read the results with a spectrum analyzer you would see how the rig is affecting the signal's EQ. Is that what you mean?

Yeah I guess it is what I mean. So let me get this straight...

If I feed pink noise through my amp and then D.I. into my sound card I can use something like Voxengo Span to give me a 'readout' similar to the image in my post above?

Thanks for the quick reply.

yup that is how you di it.. just ensure its pink noise not white..

and hopefully it wont look exactly like that .... that is one serious notch filter and i cannot imagine it sounding musical... a mid scoop should look more like this...
