EQ settings for Fender Bassman 250-115

Sign in to disble this ad
Hello friends,
I am trying to change up my tone. I have been using the same sound for a very long time and am looking for something different. Does anybody have any recommened EQ settings for a Fender Bassman 250-115. I really love Jaco's tone (who dosn't?) Rob Trujillo's tone, Jason Newsteds tone and Duff Mckagen's. Actually Duff's tone is amazing. Its nice and growly. I have always been a tube amp player so solid states are a new feild to me sort of. Any way, any suggestions are appreciated.
Thanks!!!

Read the manual and figure out what the "Flat" settings for the amp would be. Set the amp "Flat" ( no special switches on ) and try playing around with the pickup volumes/pickup blend knob - also keep the tone adjustment knobs flat and the Tone knob all the way up. Try playing finger style over the bridge pickup and then over the neck pickup - do the same with a pick. The key to getting close to other player's tone starts with technique first.

Jaco's tone is mostly the bridge pickup and fingers. Try messing around with your technique and focus on making small adjustments with the tone knobs (bass or combo amp). Good luck
