Equal but smaller alternative to Bergantino AE410?

Sign in to disble this ad
Does anyone have any suggestions for a bass cab that is smaller and/or lighter than a Bergantino AE410, but equal in performance? 4 ohms preferably and a single cab solution. I am not sure if anything equal or better exists. (Also, that doesn't weigh too much)

I wonder what Jim Bergantino is designing to replace the discontinued AE line?

It weighs 7 pounds less, too. I use an AE210 (400 watts) for practice, and it keeps up real well with 2 guitars and drums. It weighs 40 pounds and fits nicely in the trunk of my car.

I think the AE212 is about as close as you'll get, but it's a little more mid-rich than the AE410. That could be a good thing (or not).
Good call Munji. I wonder if an AE210 could cover some of my gigs. Are they 4 ohm cabs, or can they be had in 4 ohms? Hmm.

What about the SWR Golight Series. Their 410 is pretty small and light, and it comes in 4 or 8 ohm versions. Same power handling as the Berg, too.

Trouble is; I am spoiled by the performance of Bergantino Cabs. I haven't found equal performance by any single/smaller SWR cab. I am thinking an UL210 of some sort might do the trick. Or possible a Thunderchild 1x15. But I've never played a 1x15 that had the midrange complexity and quickness as a stand alone. I've played a Bergantino HT115 a while back and it was good, but just didn't have the midrange punch. Hmm.

Might go back to an Epifani UL310. That could be the closest to what I'm looking for.
