Hey guys,
I have an EV b-115. I looked at the manual online and stuff.
But what do people think about this cab? I have never seen one other than my own.

Just curious for opinions.

Have it, played it, liked it. It's a bit more square than the standard TL606 cabs.

EV cabs are great and my favourite cabs so far are the EV B-410 and the very similar Mesa Diesel 410. Does yours have a smooth cone or ribbed?

Mine has a tweeter, which the manual doesn't show.

Pretty sure mine is smooth cone. What is the difference?

I have never played an EV cab that I didn't like, and I am old-school and remember when you could purchase Carvin cabs loaded with EV speakers. Those were pretty darned good, too.

But, no, I don't know anything specific about your cab.

Are you sure about the tweeter? I'm pretty sure it's tweeter-less but it's got 2 ports.

No, mine definitely has a tweeter. This is the only pic I have of the tweeter.

Hmm, the EV Engineering Data Sheet didn't mention that at all. That's the first one I've seen like that.

That Foster horn must have been added after the fact, these B series cabs never had horns, at least not from EV. I had two B-210 thats were great cabs; I had a custom B-110 made that I still have and use occasionally.

The B115-M had a vented midrange cone speaker (VMR).
I have one of these. It's a great cab.
This doesn't look like your picture.

It must be a custom job. Which I don't think the tweeter even works. But the back has two separate panels. One with all the EV info and speakons and 1/4s. And the other one has 1/4s and a tweeter knob and no markings at all, and those are the only inputs that work.

Interesting...

Can you post a decent photo of the back? The B series did not have removable back panels, the drivers were loaded from the front. The cab should be carpeted, too, just FYI.

By panels I mean input plates, sorry.

I'll get a pic up tomorrow. And yeah, it's carpeted.

Yeah, the EV only has one input plate with 2 speakon jacks. I think yours was modded.

Yeah, it has to be modded.

That's not to say that it can't sound good. But I'm a bigger fan of their 10s.

Yep, modded. Have you opened it up to see exactly what the mods are regarding the two input panels and connections?

No. I am no good with electronics/wiring.

All I know is only the modded panel works, and I'm 99% sure the tweeter doesn't even work.

Whoever did the mod obviously wanted to bi-amp it, but it'd be pretty easy to blow that tweeter on its own if used improperly, ie. feeding a full-range signal or too much power, etc. I would've opted to build a passive crossover for it if I ever wanted to do that.
