It replaced and EV "Force" series that was blown. Actually it replaced a JBL that I tried after the EV, but the JBL couldnt handle the ported cabinet as the model (I dont recall which) must have been designed for a sealed box.
That speaker had so much purr and growl in it. I can't beleive I ever got seperated from that speaker and cabinet! I would love to hear how one sounds in a TL606 style cab.

I love the old EVM-15 speakers that were in it. My favorite 15 overall for 4 string rock bass. I don't count that one as "knocking my socks off" because I wasn't surpried - I've always liked them.
I put the most disposable speakers I had in the cab, just to get it producing some sort of sound, so I could trade it in and keep my beloved EVs. 2 ancient Carvin Magnalab 15s. Sounded awesome in that cab. Very nearly kept it. Sounded much clearer, deeper and more articulate than the EVs ever had. Didn't have the awesome mids of the EVs, but would have been killer for somebody not playing 4 string rock bass.
Random driver swapping tends to produce random results. Mayyyybe something good....mayyyybe something bad.

Of course, if the OP does not care about a cab's resulting performance (which not everybody does), then cancel my call for BFM. But if the OP is looking for socks to be blown off, then design details of the cab and the driver are of paramount importance.

Great speakers | Thanks so much.
Any experience with the 3012LF?
I wonder how it would sound in a 1x12 cab? |

I believe there is alot of use of the LF series speakers in the Fearful builds.
Maybe take a read through some of those threads.

IMHO, the best single cab I have ever played through, though the SWR 2x12 was a close second. (The Pro stuff, not the Workingman's stuff.) |
