Exploring my new (to me) SVT-410hlf Classic Hi all! I picked this up last night and have been going through it today, doing some detective work, to try and speculate it's history, etc. I started this process because visually, the speakers look different. The bottom right (BR) speaker has a black cone, while the other three (TL, TR & BL) have the blueish-grey color. After popping out each speaker I found that each one is indeed an Eminence with the correct 86-510-04 number, however, the TL speaker is a 10401B while the others are 10401A. My first question is, what is the difference between A & B? It would seem that the "B" is a replacement speaker, while the "A"s are original from the factory. If that's correct, it seems I have one original speaker (BR), one replacement speaker (TL) & two reconed, originals (TR & BL)? However, to immediately disprove my "A's are original from the factory" theory, all 4 have "different" Eminence labels. TR has an additional Orange County Speaker label & TL has an additional RoHS compliant label. So it could be that these were replaced/fixed on several instances, or that the one time it was fixed, the tech gathered (or just had in stock) these speakers from different sources. The previous owner did have it serviced, sometime in the past and everything currently works perfectly, but he couldn't remember exactly what was done. I've contacted the shop to try and get a copy of the records, but who knows when/if I'll ever hear back from them. Anyone have any insight? I love learning about this stuff & am just starting out, so my knowledge in this field is limited. Any info/comments are appreciated! Thanks! -Adam |
