Ext cab for Ampeg Portaflex

I've got an old SB12 fliptop that sounds great but was not quite loud enough to be real useful. I put an 8 ohm Celestion Neo speaker in it and it has goosed the overall volume a bit. Almost there.

I have a small 1 15, also 8 ohm, I'd like to try using as an extension. I assume this will work the amp a bit harder, but I wonder if it will actually do any damage. Because there is only one speaker out of the amp I would be jumping a cable between the speakers. What are the ramifications?

A tube amp? yes? it needs a matching load to whatever the transformer is set for, meaning- unless the amp has an EXT SPKR output, and/or a switch to select the proper impedance, you're asking for alot of trouble.

Some folks say its not a good idea, but Jess Oliver himself reconed my B15 to a 4ohm load and it works perfectly fine. Might want to post over in the Portaflex Club thread. There's people there who are more knowledgeable than me when it comes to the technical end of things.
