Please don't guess. Instead, go to Peavey's web site...

http://www.peavey.com/support/search...s/archived.cfm

...and download the correct manual for your amp.

Amp facts can avoid fried amps.

Peavey may have substantially changed the amp's design while keeping its name for marketing reasons.

Is this the correct manual for your amp?

http://www.peavey.com/assets/literat...s/80301655.pdf

If so, it indicates that any external cab connected to the amp must have a minimum impedance no lower than 4 Ω (the amp's internal speaker is also 4 Ω and the ext. spkr jack is wired in parallel with this).

Your 2x10 8 Ω cab can be safely used as an extension cab with the Peavey Combo 115.

However, the 2x10 will only be getting 1/2 as much wattage as the Combo 115's internal speaker.

please post a model number or pix so we can help you

Only real answer (that you should trust) is to down load the manual.

Without information you can break your amp

It would be mind-blowing to have a SS amp with an external speaker out that couldn't take 8 ohms. But yes, it's always a good idea to read the directions, rather than quasi-anonymous posts on teh interwebs.
