Is an extra 150w going to be THAT noticable?

I have a GK MB-500 on order and was also looking at maybe picking up an extra cab. I see that some guys are running a 212 cab with their 410. The GK 212MBE caught my eye. If I decide to do that, I'd need to pick up an 8ohm cab. I'm just wondering if I really like the sound of the 212 by itself, how much difference it will be with running the 8 ohm cab at 350w or running a 4 ohm 212 by itself at 500w. I know I will definitely limit myself as far as running extra cabs with a 4 ohm purchase, but how much of a difference will that 150w be?

Probably none. Few cabs can take more than half their rated power before running out of excursion.

+1. Go for the 8 ohm cab, and you can then add another later if you need to get louder. You'll also have a mix and match setup if you anticipate any smaller venues.
