Problem is that they're really expensive. If you know of one that's cheaper please let me know. They are very laborious to make---not a whole ton of profit margin even with the pink stuff. My 12" cab with a 3012ho in it (1.3 cu ft) weighs 15.8 lbs. If I were vacuum bagging I could probably knock a little 0ff--but for me it's light enough. |

This stack kicks butt with the fEarfuls one per side. That's only 300 watts at 8ohms per side. To bring the horns in, I'll need to add the third bit of the crossover.
Right now the horns run off my GK 1001's high side, 5K and up, so they are biamped. I think the horns have lots more potential, but need to be crossed over at a lower frequency.
Second 15/6/1 STILL in the crossover, wiring, stuffing phase.
I gotta get organized, just ask anyone who knows me.
Thirteen thousand posts: That's a lot of talk! I wonder what the cab to post ratio is? And that's just on this one fEarful series of threads. There's easily another thousand posts in related threads.
Gentlemen, carry on!

Mine have the crossovers built per Greenboy's CBG schematic, one 15/6, the other 15/6/1 which I believe crosses at approx 6K. It also has a bi-amp switch and I have a Rane AC22 active crossover. The switch keeps the mid/HF horn together, so the HF horn will still cross at 6K. Why do you think it needs to be lower?
The horn looks nice, is that the Waveguide? I plan to build the 15/6 'tube' and it makes for too tight a fit for the waveguide, so that leaves that cheapo conical horn that came with the compression driver.

I don't have time for 14 parts and even though I advocate the search function as well, I feel like spamming right now. It must have been the pizza I just ate. Seems like it might do okay coupled in a pair with a high-pass and a limiter so it doesn't get too much action in the pants.
Edit: Doh! Search was better than asking again. I was pwnt. Sorry mods http://greenboy.us/fEARful/faq.htm#C...PA_speakers.3F

| | | I knew that when I grew up, I wanted to be just like BurningSkies, so I just completed the 15Sub to go under my 15/6.
I finally get to gig the whole stack this Friday night for the first time. |

| | | | seriously Slower than RP but it's coming together well. Gonna have full dimensions to spec. Lots of fun for a part time builder remodeler guy. Great plans and cutlists etc.

I finally get to gig the whole stack this Friday night for the first time. | I just got a G&L ASAT and that electronics package is the magic bullet for my tone goals (aggressive rock cover band) with a fEARful. It's absolutely devastating in series mode. The 15/6 is so clear that every setting on the bass is distinct, something that gets lost on lesser cabs.
