you would be surprised what a single F112 can do.

Lots of jazzers do like the detail and attenuated low end of the Crazy88. I'd rather just turn down the lows on an F112 when I've done jazzier, quiet gigs, I turn the lows down a bit and the mid detail on the F112 is incredible |

I'm a big fan of the F112. Very full low end, detailed highs, and a very versatile cab. I have found that the FEARLESS series really hits the sweet spot for giving a powerful low end without being boomy or ominous. The 3012LF driver is capable of a lot of abuse where the 8s will come up short. The HF102 (only available in FEARLESS series) is my favorite sounding tweeter to date. Not sure if you are a "tweeter guy", but it makes a big difference if you ever play recorded music through your cab, use it for keyboards, or use any effects.
In don't think there is any way a C88 can carry in a big band. A F112 or even F115 would be a much better choice. I think the C88 has a very niche market for guys who want a small cab for a 3-8 piece group where the C8 just isn't enough. There are a lot of bassists that fit into that category, but for me I can either get by with a C8 or need something bigger like F112 (at a minimum). |

I've used a 12/6 in jazz trios with very good results but I can see where a fearless cabinet would be killer for us lowish volume guys. The 12/6 is no monster to haul, but the form factor of the f112 is even nicer.
It is great to see the line up growing as it is, and best wishes to the builders.

600 watts for the F112
750 watts for the F115
They will sound fine with less, of course | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
