FedEx damages my GK head

Sign in to disble this ad
I bought a used GK 700 RB-II off Ebay recently. It looked fine when it showed up but had some scratchy pots and was actually a 2003 not "almost new" as described. I also got a lot of buzz out of it. Needless to say, it wasn't to my liking and the seller agreed to take it back and refund my money.

I sent it back via FedEx and when it arrived at the seller's, the box was really beat up. The corners had blown through and actually dented and scratched the case and bent a couple pots. The head was wrapped in bubble wrap and was tight in the box when I sent it. I have filed a claim with FedEx.

My question is, should I open a claim with Ebay/Paypal just in case FedEx doesn't pay for the damage and replace the head?

Wow there are a lot of threads about UPS/FedEx mishandling packages popping up. End of the summer bringing all these guys down so they are taking it out on their job?

Did you put insurance on the package? Did you get your money back from the guy already or he doesn't want to pay until he got money from FedEx?

FedEx lets you put a value on the package, not necessarily insurance. I haven't got the money from the guy because he wants FedEx to pay. The problem is I only have 45 days to open a case with Ebay and that's up on Saturday and FedEx can take up to 7 business days to decide on a claim and that just started yesterday.

Open a claim with eBay right now. Just lay out the facts, just to establish your position. I just posted in another thread, UPS delivered a damaged guitar to me yesterday. I'll be really unhappy if I'm out money on this deal, I didn't do anything but open the f'ing box. But the seller is hesitating on the refund pending feedback from UPS. Open a claim with eBay.

UPS/FedEx will deny your claim. Everytime. You need to fight with them to get your money back. Everytime. It'll HAPPEN, but you have to work for it.
