Fender 300T vs Eden WTB300?

Sign in to disble this ad
Would anyone on here happen to know enough about the two to give me a decent comparison? Or possibly any owners point out the high and low points of them?

A while ago I decided I needed a tube amp to get that massive tone and after reading a fair few reviews I decided the Fender was the amp for me (reviews are mostly all I have to go by since none of the stores in Australia actually keep anything remotely "exotic" in stock unless they're in Melbourne - the only place in this country music is allowed to exist). The only other problem I've run into is the price of the Fender but since the Eden is significantly cheaper ($2350 vs $3000) I'm wondering if it would be a good alternative.

And can anyone shed any light on the on board od? I use od a fair bit and ideally I'd pick a tube od over a pedal any day but the fact that the clean and od channels share the same gain worries me. I've used a guitar amp that worked the same way before and it was not easy to dial tones, there was ALOT of compromise involved. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Cheers!

The Fender is a beast, size, weight and volume wise. It has quite a tricky tone section that looks straight forward but actually takes a little while to get used to how it interacts with the tone depending on how you've dialed the gain of the pre vs the master vol - This is a trick you have to learn with Tube amps because as you turn up the volume you aren't just getting the same tone only louder.

the onboard OD is nice - I thought - but thats subjective as everyone likes a different OD tone...

I have no experience with the EDEN tube head unfortunately
