The Fender 350 Amp Head (clearance sale)

I went to guitar Center today to try out some heads because I'm looking for a different sound.

I use a Littlemark II head and an RS210 cab. I have two for more volume. I like the sound/tone of my set up and I get a lot of good usable tones during gigs. Only sometimes I'll plug into something else in a studio or someones house or a back line and I'm very impressed. So, I go and search for something that I want that has a tone that i like that that fits my budget and ability to transport.

OK. So I end up picking up a Rumble 350. I'm A/B'ng today and I cannot decide if I like it. I think there are some usable tones that I am getting out of the cabs but I think its fair to say that I can do just as well with what I have already in the Markbass. The Rumble does has a cool EQ. Something about it is like candy though. And maybe the Markbass is more like a decent burgher. IDK.Thats a little weird I suppose.

I will say this with confidence. The Littlemark has a much louder, cleaner, just as easily to manipulate, tone. I dare to say its a much better head but its also possible that with the right cabinet, the Rumble will provide the right stuff. This weekend I will gig with it and I will know for sure if thats the way to go.

I'm seeing these heads everywhere for $399 right now. Was the GC clearance price better than that, and if so, what did you do to get it? Thanks, Bob

They offered it with a tag that said $298. No box, display model. At the register it rang up as $226. Seven day return/exchange policy.

Nice score. I've been thinking of getting one of those heads.

I wish I could post a decent review but I don't really possess the vocabulary or the knowledge.

I have had one for almost a year. It is light. Decent, not great tone. Mine is paired with a Fender 1x15 (Eminance) cab. I play in a three piece and it holds up the bottom well. My biggest gripe is probably how unremarkable it is. The tone has very little depth to my ear. But we constantly get complinents on how full our sound is; something must be working.

Anyways, if I had it to do over? With the money I paid it's ok.

If I had my choice of heads, the Rumble 350 would not be in the top 5. But it replace a failing Crate 440BX and I have gigged with it for a year so I guess it was a good buy.

Back around Black Friday was when I got
mine. It was on clearance for $250 with a
15% discount, $212.50.

$230 out the door at GC.

I think it's a nice sounding amp and it is
easy to use.

Sure, I'd rather have a Mark Bass, but I ain't
got tha jack,

Tabdog

I posted a link below to let you hear how the Rumble 350 sounds though a Rumble 410 in a live setting. Small long island bar. No PA

Forgive the bassist please
