Fender 75 or Fender Concert Head for bass?

Sign in to disble this ad
Has anyone tried using the 80's Fender 75 or Concert heads for bass?

Not a lot of wattage for bass (75 & 60 respectively), but the lineout is a nice feature. Could work for a club setting.

Thanks for any input.

Not nearly enough wattage for any of my uses, but paired with a good bass cab, I'm sure they'd both sound good enough. 300 watts for me though.

yeah, i've used an old showman head and i have an old ampeg b18—i figure it would be somewhere close to those. but at least with the lineout you can get the tone from the amp and reinforce the volume through the monitors.

Hmm, I had a Concert (ii) head and I also had a 75 combo, but used neither for bass. Having used Bassman 50s for bass, I imagine either the ConcertII or the 75 head would be quite good through a good bass cabinet. My tech told me that the 75 watt rating is not realistic for a pair of 6L6GCs, so don't expect it to be louder than a Bassman 50. The Showman would be significantly louder (I had a '66 for while), - what a great amp.
