The NV sounds more like a good, old Ampeg fridge. The Neo 610 can get a bit more modern sounding (it does have a tweeter, so that makes sense). But I'm very impressed with the cab so far. Appears to be well-made, too. |

I'll definitely love the 25w switch for some of my band's lower volume practices. I was wondering about using a 210 for that, any suggestions on what 210 might work? and then maybe using 2 210s for full 100w? |

| | | | After waiting 2 months, picked up my 100T and 115 Neo today. Lovely tone- still playing with and learning the overdrive settings, but the sound I was looking for- the old warm Bassman sound I remembered, was right there on the vintage channel. Thanks to those of you who have contributed to the collective knowledge on this amp. I know reviews of the 115 have been a bit mixed, but I certainly love the sound of it. I don't play at house shaking volume, and it is a very full, warm sound to my ears. |

As Roadkill says, two would be louder and I think would be a good combination as well as giving you the option of one or two cabs depending on the gig. |

But we have a reasonable guitarist with Twin Reverb, no Marshall stack or anything. I'd be hesitant to use a single 2x10 on anything but rehearsal or background-music gigs. I may be wrong, but that just seems shy to me. But I guess if guys do gigs with a single 1x15 cab, the single 2x10 should be similar. But I'm not sure I'd try that either. My personal opinion is the best combo for the 100T is having 2 410 cabs, so you have the second 410 for gigs that need it, or a single 610 like Tim, and that's what you've got for small and larger gigs. Of course there are a lot of bands that can't play unless it's really loud - the volume gloms over things. If that's the case and you are dealing with Marshall stacks, I'm not sure the 100T is the right amp. That'd be more for the SB300 I'd think. But having gigged with the 100T since early May, I haven't run into one situation where I've needed more than the single 410, including a couple fairly large stages with full FOH.

| | | | Had an issue with my brand new Super Bassman for its first gig on friday night. Soundcheck was ok, but when I plugged in for the show there was almost no sound on the vintage channel, and a moderate noise (like shhhhh). I checked bias, speakers connections, everything was ok. Switched it off and on again, but still no sound... I switched to the overdrive channel, to my surprise it worked properly. Since I had no backup amp, I did the show using the overdrive channel (I know, I shouldn't have !).
I found out the day after that I had a bad preamp tube in V1. Replaced it and now the amp is working great.
Fender user manual only mentions the opposite case : if the vintage channel is working normally, but not the overdrive channel, then it's a bad tube in V2.
Now my question is : do the vintage and overdrive channels share the same preamp tubes, or is it V1 for vintage, and V2 for overdrive ?
Sorry to hijack the Bassman 100T thread with Super Bassman issues, but since the two amps share the same preamp, I think you guys can have an clue.
Thanks !

Mind you, I am not a tech.Unfortunately faulty tubes are all too common these days, nothing you can do about it really but at least they will be covered under warranty. It is somewhat unpredictable and an issue outside the amp manufacturer's control - except that I believe Fender do own Groove Tubes. On the plus side, you will have found out how amazingly versatile the overdrive channel is , no harm done and all should be good from now on. |
