Fender Bassman 400H- Input issues

Sign in to disble this ad
Hey All,

I have a Bassman 400H that sounds BEAUTIFUL through a 410 and a 215 except recently, it's been a bit crackly and occasionally will cut out(forcing me to settle for using my old Acoustic 140 head). I can usually apply pressure to the cable at the input to stop the crackliness, but that's clearly a temporary fix. I know a lot of those components are soldered right onto the board, so I'm hesitant to open it up.

Any thoughts on remedies before I bring it to a trusted (but supremely overpriced) repair place?

Many thanks!
