Fender Bassman 410H and 115H Rebuild?

I just picked up a Fender stack today for free on Craigslist. The speakers are blown (all but one 10” driver).

Thoughts on these cabs? Are they decent enough to invest in replacement speakers? If so, any suggestions? I would like to use NEO if possible for weight since I am approaching the half century mark.

Very nice. I think they are pretty good. You will end up spending around $500 on speakers probably for Neodymium drivers but they'll likely sound really good.

Best of luck with it.

10" DELTALITE II 2510

15" KAPPALITE™ 3015

KAPPALITE 3015LF

the 4x10 looks sealed so the driver needs to be suitable for
a sealed cabinet.
Efficiency Bandwidth Product will determine this simply take
the Fs (resonant frequency) and divide by Qes (electrical quality)
looking for EBP of 80 or lower

the 3015 has high end good enough for fullrange
the 3015LF is a low frequency driver only and will need a midrange driver for highs.

plenty of threads to discourage the use of 4x10 and 1x15 cabinets. outdated practice.

the 4x10 or 1x15 by itself should carry most gigs
no need to mix them unless you have a biamped head
to use them proper.

likewise aside from weight the factory ceramic eminence speakers used are fine and cheaper.

or just recone the blown drivers
if the quotes you get are cheaper than replacing

Thanks for the info. I do have a Carvin BX1500 which I can use biamped but I won't use it that way.

I will probably:
  • Replace the drivers in the 4x10 and use that as my gig cab.
  • Throw an older (but nice) Kappa in the 15 cab since I already have it. This will most likely live in the practice room.

Ok, I put this Eminence Kappa driver in the 15 and it sounds great! Anyone know what model it is or specifics? I bought it used for $60 and have no other info. This awesome cab cost me $60 total, whoo hoo!

I am checking on recone prices for the 10" drivers. Any other suggestions for replacements? Cheaper would be good. BogeyBass suggested the Deltalites but those are fairly pricey. Although I am sure they sound awsome.
