Hi,
I am searching for a new bass combo amp and am hesitating between the Fender bassman tv duo ten and the Hartke hydrive 5410c!
I have tried them both and love the way they sound, even though they are very différent. They bothe produce the sound i am in quest for. I play with a passive jazz bass.
I will be using them for small gigs and in few little bars (they have bothe enough volume for my uses).
I can have them for almoste the same price and i don't care for the weight.
I don't know which one to chose and i don't want to do a mistake, i have been working hard to earn the money to buy the perfect bass combo amp. I have tried so many and these two are realy the ones i have chosen!
Please help me do my choise buy explaining me your preferences in tone, quality, durability, etc...
Thank you very much for your response.

The main minus on the Fender TV is that it does not allow you to use an extension cab, so being "only" 2x10 will limit you if you will need more out of it.
The Hartke will be much loader as it is due to the 4x10 config. Both have a tube in the preamp. Tone wise it is up to you. I'll guess from clips I've heard that the Fender have a bit more vintage tone.
I'll go for the Hartke, mainly due to the fact it have 4x10 HyDrive elements which many rave about.

Thank you very much for your response!! It helps me a lot.
I didn't know that the Hartke could manage an extention cab, so now you tought it to me, i think i have a preference for it. i think an extra 1x15" could sound very nice. :-)

It is the LH500 head in that Hartke combo. I'm not sure if the 4x10 in there are 4 or 8 ohms. If it is a 8 ohms than yes, you could run an additional cab.
