Fender BXR / RAD bass amps

I LOVE the tone of my little 75w Fender RAD bass amp. I understand this was one of the predecessors to the BXR line of bass amps in the early 90s. I'm interested in harnessing that sound in my live performance rig, but it's lacking at least 225w to compete with the rest of my band. Some questions:

- Is it possible to use the head from my Fender RAD amp as a pre-amp in front of a 300 or 400 watt power amp? If so, any recommendations on how to make this work well? (Keep in mind I'm trying to keep the size and weight of my rig as small as possible.)

- Is the BXR 300R or 300C a higher-wattage version of the RAD amp? Does anyone have experience with this model?

Any feedback is appreciated. Thanks.
